I love the thrill of creating fresh, new and compelling images that may start with the notion of “thinking wrong” but end up grounded in the elements and principles of good design. 

Sometimes I’m surprised and pleased by a narrative that creeps in to add mystery and dimension.  However, it must be totally integrated with and subordinate to the aesthetic whole.  Ultimately, I’m hoping for the “Wow” factor, as in, “Wow, look at that!” 

The important thing is to make a good picture – a visual improvisation – felt viscerally in the heart and soul, with or without a narrative context.
